When it comes to blogging, my laptop and my iPhone X are life. I drag my laptop most places in order to write when I have spare time, but I take my phone everywhere because there are so many things I can do on it through the use of many must have blogging apps. In order from “kinda need” to “can’t do without”, here are a list of my favorites right now.

5 | Plann

I joined Plann when the app first launched and even though I was also using the free version of Planoly, I maintained my $8.99/3 month subscription to Plann because I really liked features like the Focus Notes, where you can jot down the current weeks Instagram game plan. It also offers a look at your palette based on the last 12 images you posted and, one of my favorites, “sneaky peek” where you can get a glimpse at the analytics for your “competition’s” feeds. I’m not a competition kinda gal, so I use it more so to get a sense of some hashtags that could be good to use and just overall inspiration purposes.

They just debuted the one thing that’s been keeping me linked to Planoly – a desktop version. Not only does it provide analytics on your feed, it provides them for Insta stories as well. It also gives you filler boxes to assist in planning your feed.

I should add, Plann is only number 5 because it’s not directly related to my blog like the others and if Instagram went away tomorrow, I wouldn’t need it anymore.

Total cost: It depends on which option you choose but there is a free version. I was paying $8.99/3 month, but I’ve switched over to a desktop subscription ($42 for the year), which includes the app subscription.

4 | Bitly

Because I work full time during the day, often times I’m writing on the go … like right now, I’m writing this post from the CATS bus on my commute to work. Once I post, I’m able to switch on over to Bitly really quick to create a short link to add to various places in order to know where my traffic is coming from. I also like that I can make custom links and personalize them a bit more to my website or/and to whatever that particular link is taking you to.

3 | Google Analytics

It’s all about that return on investment for brands and this is the quickest way to access my blog numbers on the go. Sometimes they might just ask and others they’ll want a screenshot but, either way, this app makes it easy.

2 | CoSchedule

The CoSchedule app is the best thing ever when it comes to scheduling your marketing on the go all in one place. Not only can I schedule out my posts to social media, but I can set them up to requeue and go out at other times in the future as a bit of a “hey, remember me” follow up on it later. Perfect for places like Twitter where your tweets are easily lost in the shuffle, so it doesn’t seem overwhelming to throw that post out a few times.

Coschedule also links directly to your WordPress, so you can schedule your social post out directly from your blog post.

Total cost: $49/month for a CoSchedule account, which you need to access the app

1 Must Have Blogging App | Canva

I design everything in Canva. It’s super user friendly and has so many templates to choose from. I’m talking templates for social media post, Insta stories, flyers, proposals, you name it, it’s there. I will say, I prefer to use the desktop version, but I love the app for minor tweaks or to easily access the things I’ve created on my desktop, from my phone. Comes in handy if you’re on the go and need to send out your Canva created media kit at a moments notice.
